Doha has been awarded the prestigious Excellence Award for Electronic and Smart Transformation during the 14th Arab Towns Organization Award ceremony held on November 7, 2023, at the foundation's headquarters in Doha. During a press conference attended by the Secretary-General of the Arab Towns Organization, HE Engineer Abdul Rahman Hisham Al-Asfour, Director of Doha Municipality Mansour Ajran Al-Buainain, and several general directors of municipalities and departments, the 14th session awards jury announced the names of Arab cities that were recognized for their achievements.
Doha has been conferred with 11 awards in the previous editions of the awards, spanning from 1986 to 2017. It's noteworthy that six other cities in Qatar, including Mesaieed Industrial City, Dukhan City, Al Daayen City, Al Rayyan City, Ras Laffan City, Al Wakrah City, and Al Shamal City, have also been recognized in various categories between 2008 and 2017.
