On November 24, 2023, the Ministry of Interior conducted a mock drill in Education City.
The drill conducted by the Public Transport Security Department took place in the Tram area, involving various departments such as the Central Operations Department, General Directorate of Civil Defence, General Directorate of Traffic, Al Rayan Security Department, Rescue Police Department (Al Fazaa), ambulance services, and Qatar Foundation.
This exercise is one of many conducted by the department as part of its plan to improve readiness and evaluate the effectiveness of measures implemented to secure the railway. Previously, the department had conducted a similar drill at the QIB branch located in Grand Hamad Street.
