The State of Qatar has won membership in UNESCO's Executive Board for the 2023-2027 term. The country achieved the highest percentage of votes among the Arab group during the recent elections held for the Board. The election took place on the sidelines of UNESCO's 42nd session of the General Conference, presently taking place in Paris from November 7-22. UNESCO recently released the election results for Electoral Group B, with The State of Qatar garnering 167 votes.
As a member of the Executive Board, the State of Qatar aims to bolster the Organization's role in its respective areas of focus, both on a regional and global scale.
