Saudi Arabia Wins Bid to Host World Expo 2030

During the 173rd General Assembly of the BIE, held in Paris, the hosting rights for the World Expo 2030 were awarded to Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia. The announcement was made on November 28th, following final presentations from Riyadh, Rome, and Busan, where the 182-country delegation cast their votes via a secret ballot.

The Expo 2030 has been scheduled from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, in Riyadh, operating under the theme "The era of change: Together for a foresighted tomorrow". The event's location, near the King Salman International Airport, is currently under development, ensuring easy access for visitors. The Expo's focus on equal opportunity is reflected in its 226 spherical exhibition pavilions, aligned with the equator line. The distribution of pavilions based on longitudes encourages global collaboration, underscoring Saudi Arabia's leadership role.
