Traffic Department Announces Peak-hour Ban on Entry of Trucks and Large Buses in Doha

The General Directorate of Traffic has implemented a new regulation, restricting trucks and buses carrying more than 25 passengers from entering Doha during peak hours. Furthermore, these vehicles are prohibited from accessing February 22 Road. "The General Directorate of Traffic, in coordination with the relevant authorities, announces the regulation of traffic for trucks and buses with more than 25 passengers inside the city of Doha," according to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior.

The department's statement indicated that individuals could obtain an exception permit to gain entry during restricted hours. However, the statement lacked specific information regarding the peak hours and the duration of this ban. Simultaneously, a complete prohibition on the transit of large buses and trucks along February 22 Road has been declared. This directive applies at all times from Mesaimmer and Fereej Al Ali Intersections to Umm Lekhba (Landmark) Interchange, spanning both directions of the road.
