HH The Amir Donates QR100mn to 'Palestine Duty' Drive

Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani donated QR 100mn to the 'Palestine Duty' fundraising campaign, led by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA). The campaign is held in partnership with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Qatar Charity and in co-operation with Qatar Media Corporation (Qatar TV). The campaign raised an admirable QR 200mn on Monday, showcasing remarkable solidarity with the war-affected people of Gaza.

The campaign, which coincided with Qatar National Day, elicited an immense response from donors. Many individuals actively participated in the drive by visiting the exclusive collection points at Souq Wagif, Katara, and Darb Al Saai or by tuning in to Qatar TV to join the initiative live.

Qatar Charity and QRCS stationed their officials and volunteers at three designated locations where donors deposited their contributions. Along with monetary donations, people generously contributed clothes and other essential commodities to support the war-torn Gaza population.

During the campaign's live broadcast, Qatar TV showcased dignitaries who called for donations. The broadcast anoounced contributions from both individuals and corporations. Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) donated QR 1.5 million, while Barwa Real Estate Company and Ooredoo each donated QR 1 million. Dukhan Bank donated QR 0.5 million.
