More than 21,100 Palestinians have been killed and a total of 55,243 wounded in Israeli strikes since October 7 in Gaza, the Gaza health ministry said on December 27. The numbers also included the 195 Palestinians killed and 325 injured in the past 24 hours.
On Wednesday, Israeli forces pounded central Gaza by land, sea and air. Palestinian authorities reported dozens more deaths including 20 in one attack after Israel's military chief said the war on Hamas would grind on for months.
A statement by Gaza health ministry said that an Israeli air strike killed 20 Palestinians on 27 December near the Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis.
