'Palestine Duty' Relief Campaign by RACA Raises Over QR200mn for Gaza


The 'Palestine Duty Relief' fundraising campaign, organized by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), has raised over QR200m (QR200,048,750) in donations for those impacted by the recent aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, donated QR100m to the 'Palestine Duty' campaign. Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) donated QR 1.5 million, Barwa Real Estate Company and Ooredoo each donated QR 1 million and Dukhan Bank donated QR 0.5 million.

Sabah Al Kuwari, Director of PR at Ooredoo, announced during a programme that Ooredoo plans to extend its initiative that enables its users to make free phone calls to Palestine.

The campaign, which coincided with Qatar National Day and was aired on Qatar TV, garnered contributions from various strata of Qatari society, including monetary and in-kind donations. The campaign was organized in harmony with Qatar's stance of solidarity with the Palestinian population, aimed at providing assistance to the victims affected by the aggression in Gaza. The focus was primarily on the vulnerable groups, including the wounded, orphans, widows, children, elderly, and pregnant women.
