The Philippine Embassy in Qatar is shifting to a new and more convenient location within the Onaiza area and will commence its normal operations there on December 10, 2023. Relocated to Building No. 6, Street No. 549, Zone No. 66, the embassy could be reached via the Katara Metro station on the Red Line.
A QR code of the new location on Google Maps was provided by the embassy for easy access. Many Filipino expatriates consider this as a thoughtful gesture as this addresses the struggles of commuting faced by them.
The embassy encouraged the public to schedule non-emergency, non-urgent consular services transactions after December 9, 2023, due to ongoing building and system maintenance. It is learnt that this approach aims to minimise service disruptions during the transition.
The embassy also announced that it would be closed on December 18, 21, 25, 26, and 31 "in observance of Philippine and Qatari holidays", encouraging the community to plan their visits accordingly.
