Qatar has confirmed its continued diplomatic efforts to reinstate the humanitarian pause and expressed optimism in augmenting the progress made towards achieving a comprehensive and sustainable agreement that would ultimately terminate the ongoing conflict.
These diplomatic efforts aim to halt the ongoing violence in Palestine and pave the way for meaningful negotiations that culminate in a fair, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. The proposed solution entails a two-state system, with the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital. Furthermore, this framework seeks to secure all the rights of the Palestinian people.
The statement regarding the illegal actions of Israel in occupied East Jerusalem and the remaining Palestinian territory was presented during the 10th emergency special session of the General Assembly. Qatar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, delivered the address. The United Nations Headquarters in New York hosted a meeting to discuss the draft resolution submitted by the Arab Group on protecting civilians and adhering to international law.
