As January 2024 begins, we are stepping in to the second month of winter. According to climatological data, this month is typically the coldest of the year. As per the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD), it's typical to experience cold fronts this month, often accompanied by low-pressure systems and thunderstorms. More rainfall is anticipated during the second week of this month.
"Climate records show frequent fog cases, especially in the first half of the month," said QMD.
The daily mean temperature for the month of January will be 17.7 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature ever recorded during this month was 3.8 degrees Celsius which was in 1964. At the same time, the highest recorded was 32.4 degrees Celsius in 2015.
