The iconic Lusail Stadium is fully prepared to welcome the fans for the inauguration of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 this Friday. The opening game, starting at 7 pm, will feature defending champions and the host nation, Qatar, taking on Lebanon. The opening ceremony will begin at 5 pm preceding the match.
As per a statement released on Tuesday, a fan zone will be established at the stadium, offering an array of cultural festivities. The fan zone will feature live shows, gaming areas, and a variety of food and beverage trucks. Fans will also have the opportunity to engage with the AFC Asian Cup 2023 mascot family - Saboog, Tmbki, Freha, Zkriti, and Traeneh.
To ensure a smooth experience, fans are advised to arrive early at the stadium. Gates will open five hours before kick-off. Please note that all tickets for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 are digital and can be presented via mobile devices.
Please be aware that Hayya is not necessary to enter stadiums. Volunteers and staff will be present throughout the venue to provide any necessary assistance. Additionally, fans are requested to cooperate with security personnel at all times. A list of prohibited items will be shared on the tournament's digital platforms for your reference.
The Lusail Stadium is conveniently accessible via the Doha Metro. Fans can take the Red Line to reach at the Lusail metro station, which is only a 10-minute walk to the stadium.
For individuals arriving by car, a park and walk option is readily accessible. Attendees are encouraged to follow the signs to the nearest car park. Moreover, ride-sharing apps such as Karwa are available for drop-off and pick up at designated points, which are roughly a 20-minute walk from the stadium. Residents in the vicinity of the area should expect road closures near the venue.
