Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior (Mol) will commence monitoring delivery motorcyclists to ensure compliance with using the appropriate lane while on the road starting from January 15th. According to Mol's statement, this initiative is aimed at strengthening security and safety on roads by implementing best practices and measures to decrease traffic accidents, fatalities, and related injuries.
According to Brig Gen. Jassim Nasser Al Humaidi, Director of the Traffic Awareness Department, motorcyclists who deliver orders will now be required to use the right lane of roads, except for intersections, roundabouts, and crossroads within the 300-meter range.
These violations will be monitored through the applied traffic monitoring systems and traffic patrols, starting January 15, pointing out that the decision comes based on the traffic law which permitted the licensed authority to either ban or determine the use of roads or any part of them for all vehicles, Al Humaidi added.
