World Aquatics Championships Kicks Off in Doha


Doha, Qatar: The highly anticipated World Aquatics Championships began in Qatar on 2 February 2024, Friday. This is the first time the event is being organized in the Middle East.

The championships will be held until February 18 at The Aspire Dome, Hamad Aquatic Centre and the Old Doha Port.

Doha 2024 is ready to break records for the highest number of participating athletes and countries represented at the World Aquatics Championships.

Over 2,600 athletes, hailing from 201 countries and including one refugee team, are set to compete in six aquatic sports. The competition offers qualification spots for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, adding to the excitement of the event. Notably, four sports, including swimming, will feature a record number of participating countries, while three will have a record number of competing athletes.
