A tragic incident unfolded in Mangaf, southern Kuwait, resulting in the loss of at least 41 lives and injuring dozens due to a fire outbreak in a residential building for workers on Wednesday early morning.
Major General Eid Rashed Hamad said that the emergency was reported to authorities at 6:00 am local time (0300 GMT).
“The building in which the fire occurred was used to house workers, and there was a large number of workers there. Dozens were rescued, but unfortunately there were many deaths as a result of inhaling smoke from the fire," a senior police commander told state TV.
Authorities have successfully contained the fire and are actively investigating its cause.
