Doha, Qatar: Thursday, June 20, 2024, will be the first day of summer astronomically, coinciding with the longest daylight period in the Northern Hemisphere, announced Qatar Weather on their Instagram Platform. “The Summer solstice marks the beginning of summer in the astronomical calendar in the northern hemisphere during which the sun is highest in the sky and directly overhead in the tropic of cancer. The summer solstice is the day with the most hours of sunlight in the northern hemisphere, whereas it coincides with fewest hours of sunlight in the southern hemisphere. In addition, the sun doesn't set in the northern Arctic Circle on this day. After the summer solstices, days get shorter gradually,” Qatar Weather shared on its social media platform.
