Doha, Qatar: The Numbeo Crime Index 2024 Mid-Year report has positioned Doha as the third safest city among 311 global cities assessed, showing a commendably low crime index of 16.1. At the forefront of cities with minimal crime rates are Abu Dhabi and Ajman in the UAE, securing the top two spots with scores of 11.8 and 15.8, respectively.
Conversely, Pietermaritzburg and Pretoria in South Africa were singled out in the report for exhibiting the highest crime rates, registering scores of 82.5 and 81.9 on the crime index, respectively.
The Numbeo index gauges perceived crime rates by considering factors like theft, violence, and vandalism.
