Doha, Qatar: A newborn was successfully saved from his mother's womb after she died from injuries in an Israeli strike in Gaza.

Ola Adnan Harb al-Kurd, nine months pregnant, was in the hospital after a night of missile strikes that led to the deaths of over 24 people in the Hamas-run territory

Kurd's condition was described as critical by surgeon Akram Hussein, who stated that she was "almost dead" at the time of her arrival in the hospital.

The medical team's efforts to save the mother were not successful, but they were able to conduct an ultrasound that revealed the presence of the baby's heartbeats. They promptly performed an emergency cesarean section and delivered the baby. The newborn was initially in critical condition but improved after receiving care, said the head of the hospital's obstetrics and gynaecology department, Raed al-Saudi.
