Doha, Qatar: In the 18th edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2024 by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP), the state of Qatar has secured the second spot as the most peaceful country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Qatar ranked 29th out of 163 countries in global ranking.
In MENA region, Kuwait tops the list with a score of 1.622, placing 25th globally.
Qatar follows closely with a score of 1.656, surpassing Oman (1.761), United Arab Emirates (1.897), Bahrain (2.072), and Saudi Arabia (2.206) in the GCC countries, which are ranked 53rd, 81st, and 102nd on the index, respectively.
