Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh Killed by Short-range Missile: IRGC

According to a report from The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on 3 August 2024, Saturday, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran on Wednesday with a "short-range projectile with a warhead of approximately 7 kilograms."

In a statement released on Saturday, the IRGC revealed that the attack on Haniyeh originated from a location outside of where he was staying.

The IRGC stated, “This action was designed and implemented by the Zionist regime and supported by the criminal government of America.”

It was only three days later that the IRGC publicly disclosed the exact cause of Ismail Haniyeh's incident.

Haniyeh had traveled to Iran for President Masoud Pezehskian's inauguration ceremony.

During this time, speculations arose whether a long-range missile was launched from outside Iran's borders or if it was fired from an aircraft within Iran's airspace.
