Doha, Qatar: In a recent update, the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in Qatar has declared a three-month extension of the 50% discount period for traffic violation fines. The extended discount period will run from September 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024.
This discount will be available for all vehicle owners, regardless of their nationality or residency status, including citizens, residents, visitors, and individuals from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. It is important to emphasize that this discount is only valid for violations incurred over a time period not exceeding three years.
Starting September 1, 2024, the MoI has highlighted that individuals with unsettled traffic fines will be prohibited from leaving Qatar through any borders until all outstanding payments are cleared.
