Doha, Qatar: The Customs Department at Hamad Port and the southern ports have successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle tobacco. It was revealed upon thorough inspection that a shipment of thermal insulators contained concealed foreign objects.
Upon further examination, it was discovered that bags of banned tobacco (tumbak) were discreetly hidden within secret compartments of the thermal insulators. The total weight of the confiscated material is 1,790 kilograms.
