The Israeli military announced the death of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in a strike on Beirut. Military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nada Shoshani confirmed the news via social media.
Hezbollah has yet to verify any casualties from the attacks, while a source indicated that contact with Nasrallah was lost since Friday evening.
This has raised concerns, as he had previously been rumoured dead in 2006 but reappeared unharmed.
