Doha, Qatar: The month of July this year witnessed a significant drop of over 57% in the number of fatal road accidents compared to the previous month, as per data from the National Planning Council (NPC). The report indicates that six deaths occurred in traffic incidents in July, a notable decrease from the 14 fatalities in June 2024.
Moreover, the total number of road accidents decreased by seven percent from 647 in June to 602 in July. The majority of these accidents were minor, with only 23 incidents classified as major accidents during the month.
The data highlights that July had the lowest monthly death toll in road accidents this year. From the start of 2024, there have been 89 reported fatalities and 5,164 traffic incidents, including 261 major accidents.
