Popular singer Liam Payne, a former member of legendary boy band One Direction, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances of the fall, with reports suggesting it remains uncertain whether it was accidental or if Payne, who had previously spoken about his battles with alcohol abuse, may have been under the influence at that time.
A police statement verified the identity of the deceased: "Liam James Payne, composer and guitarist, former member of the band One Direction, died today after falling from the third floor of a hotel."
