Doha, Qatar: Qatar Airways has elevated the future of in-flight connectivity by operating the world’s first Boeing 777 aircraft equipped with Starlink, flying from Doha to London on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, as announced in a press statement by the airline.
This achievement positions Qatar Airways as a pioneer in integrating advanced technology onboard. The airline is the largest and first in the MENA region to provide passengers with Starlink's ultra-high-speed, low-latency internet, which is complimentary for all travelers and available from gate to gate.
The national carrier of the State of Qatar plans to surpass its original goal of three Starlink-equipped aircraft by introducing 12 upgraded Boeing 777-300s featuring this cutting-edge service by the end of 2024. Additionally, Qatar Airways has committed to implementing the technology across its entire Boeing 777 fleet in 2025, a year ahead of schedule, with the Airbus A350 fleet to follow in the summer of 2025.
