The Museum of Science announced that the Leonid meteor shower will be visible worldwide on November 17 and 18, 2024, peaking at around 15 meteors per hour. The meteor shower is best viewed in the early hours after midnight.
The Leonid meteor shower originates from Comet Tempel-Tuttle. This year, it is expected to produce about 15 meteors per hour at its peak, along with the possibility of witnessing a stunning and colourful fireball.
To catch a glimpse of the meteors, find a spot with dark skies, away from light pollution. The best viewing time is after midnight, so allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness and scan the entire sky for these celestial wonders.
