Doha, Qatar: The Old Doha Port hosted its second annual Seabed Cleaning Initiative, emphasizing its commitment to marine conservation. Over 50 certified divers participated in this collaborative effort, which aimed to restore marine ecosystems and promote environmental protection.
Key partners included ExxonMobil Qatar, serving as a contributer, while Green Energy conducted pre-event surveys, and Tanzifco managed waste collection and disposal. The Qatari Coast Guard ensured diver safety, and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change provided logistical support.
The initiative successfully removed various debris, including plastics and fishing nets, from the seabed, reducing risks to marine life and navigation.
