Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has announced an exciting sports events calendar for 2025, showcasing a diverse array of 84 events, including 15 prestigious world championships. Among the highlights is the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships, set to take place from May 17 to 27, 2025, at the Lusail Multipurpose Arena, Qatar University Arena, and Qatar Sports Arena.
In addition, Qatar will host the FIFA U-17 World Cup from November 5 to 27, 2025, utilizing the stadiums built for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The year will kick off with the finals of the King of the Court beach volleyball tournament, organized by the Qatar Volleyball Association in early January, followed by the Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 in February.
February will also see the return of several significant events, including the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, hosted by the Qatar Golf Association, and the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for Men and the Qatar TotalEnergies Open for Women, organized by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation. The Qatar Shooting & Archery Association will conduct the H.H. The Amir's Shooting Cup and the Lusail Shotgun Championship during this month.
April will bring attention to the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup, featuring both men's and women's competitions, while June will highlight the FIBA 3x3 U23 Youth League, organized by the Qatar Basketball Federation. Later in the year, the Q-Terminals Qatar Classic squash tournament is scheduled from September 28 to October 4, 2025, organized by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation.
The calendar includes 36 international championships, such as the Al Shagab International League— a qualifier for the FEI Group 7 final, the WTT Star Contender, the Qatar Fencing Grand Prix, the Qatar International Optimist Sailing Championship, the H.H. The Amir's Sword Equestrian Festival, the Commercial Bank CHI AL Shagab presented by Longines, the Doha Diamond League, the 5th Qatar Open Taekwondo Championship, and the 10th Qatar Weightlifting Cup.
On the Asian stage, Qatar will host 14 events, including the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship, the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, the West Asia One-Day Athletics Championship, the West Asia Badminton Championship, and the Asian Padel Championship.
At the Arab level, the Qatar Football Association will organize the FIFA Arab Cup from December 1 to 18, utilizing the stadiums from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Gulf competitions will feature six championships, including the GCC Men's Tennis Championship (singles and doubles), the GCC Padel Team Championship for U-14 and U-18, and the GCC Youth and Junior Athletics Championship.
Furthermore, the newly released calendar includes numerous local and community events, such as National Sport Day, the QOC Half-Marathon, the Qatar Volleyball Cup Final, the H.H. The Amir Basketball Cup Final, the Qatar Football Cup Final, the Qatar Handball Cup Final, the H.H. The Amir Volleyball Cup Final, the closing ceremony of the Olympic Schools Program, the Amir Football Cup Final, the H.H. The Amir Handball Cup, and World Olympic Day.
