Qatar to Build Permanent Pavilion in Historic Venue of Giardini della Biennale, Venice

Qatar is set to build a national pavilion at Giardini della Biennale, a historic venue that opened in 1895, joining 30 other nations with permanent pavilions.

This development follows a Protocol of Cooperation signed between Qatar Museums and the Municipality of Venice in June 2024, aimed at enhancing cultural and socioeconomic collaboration.

HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, emphasized Qatar's commitment to cultural diplomacy and showcasing creative talent from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.

The new pavilion will be centrally located next to the Book Pavilion and will feature a significant installation, Community Centre, by Pakistani architect Yasmeen Lari, set to launch in May 2025 during the 19th International Architecture Exhibition.
