Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE Plan Joint Bid for Hosting Rugby World Cup

Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE are planning a joint bid to host the Rugby World Cup, with support from Asia Rugby.

This would mark the tournament's return to Asia after Japan hosted in 2019 and would be the first participation by these Gulf countries. Asia Rugby President Qais Al Dhalai endorses a multi-city hosting model, similar to football, stating it could lead to the most successful rugby event ever.

Australia and the United States are set to host the 2027 and 2031 tournaments, respectively. The Gulf countries aim to bid for the 2035 or 2039 Rugby World Cup, with bidding expected to start in the next two years.
